You asked for in-person, digital-skills classes, and the HSPLS listened! In coming months, public libraries across the state will begin hosting a series of entry level classes. These one-hour sessions conducted at each library will help our community members access and gain the skills they need to use the Internet for everyday living.

Are These Classes Free?

Yes, the classes are all 100% free! The Hawaii State Public Library System is partnering with the State of Hawaii’s Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Workforce Development Division to provide these courses. Funding was provided by a U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration grant.

Who Is Teaching These Classes?

The class instructors will be members of the Mapunawai Inc team, a registered 501c(3) non-profit in the state of Hawaii. We have taught thousands of students, and encourage anyone wanting to learn to join us!
